On Monday 24th July I attended the “Build a Better A27” Meeting. The meeting was  very disappointing as it appears that little activity has been undertaken by the County or District Councils over recent  months. What was more concerning though was that both the District and County Councils seemed to be acted independently of each other. It is very worrying that they can not work together for the greater good of our community. Are the leaders of the County and District Council working together or not?

Since the meeting I have been in touch with the leader of the County Council, the leader of the District Council and our MP.

I wrote an Open Letter to the leader of the District Council who tried to highjack the meeting. A copy of the Open Letter is in a separate post on this blog.

The outcome of the meeting was that we have until the end of September to agree an acceptable community solution or we lose the money. The only option on the table is a version of the southern route.

The District Council leader wanted people to accept his proposals. The MP agreed to ask for an extension beyond the end of September.

It really is down to the the leaders of the Councils and our MP to work together to find a solution that is acceptable to the community. I just hope it is not too late
